Signode BXT3-19 Battery Powered Strapping Tool

The BXT3-19 will soon be replaced by the BXT4-19

The BXT3-19 strapping tool keeps many of the features loved on the BXT2-19.  The new BXT3-19 has updated the display.  Now there is a beautiful screen that shows exactly what the tool is doing, and can do.  It is easy to adjust tension, adjust weld, and flip from manual mode to automatic.  The favorite button, the star symbol, lets you flip to a second stored tension setting. Which makes running two jobs that need different tension easier.  The display shows tension in real time.  The display ticks up as the tool is pulling the banding tight, and shows you the actual tension in real time.  In auto mode, the tool kicks into weld/cut once desired tension is reached.

The housing around the battery protects the BXT3-19 from damage.  Many other tools have exposed batteries which leads to the battery tabs, or tool tabs breaking off when the tool is dropped.  The BXT3-19 protects the battery very well. The battery and charger are Bosch 18 volt and 4 amp hours.

For 3/8" use the BXT3-13

For 1/2" or 5/8" use the BXT3-16 or P328

For 1" or 1.25" use the P331

For polypropylene strap, we suggest the BXT3-16

Allstrap opinion:

This Signode BXT3-19 tool is one of the easiest to use on the market.  It improved the two weakest parts on the BXT2-19.  The first improvement was the blocking pawls (responsible for swinging the arm away from the feedwheel) were replaced by a durable spring.  The second trouble spot for the BXT2 were things getting caught in the welding belt.  The BXT3 now has a cover to keep big debris out, and a blow out hole to get rid of the small debris.  Signode has lowered the cost of the wear parts, generally making them more competitive with other brands.  The BXT3-19 is also much easier to work on for maintenance.  With these improvements, the Signode BXT3-19 is now tied as the top recommended tool (with the P329)!

BXT3-19 review update 4-2020:  This Signode tool relies on a Bosch battery that you can no longer get at Home Depot or Amazon.  The BXT3-19 has a protective cover that hugs the battery.  The cover was nice to make the battery hard to bang up, but now you can not use the current 6, 6.3, or 8 amp batteries, making the BXT3-19 battery expensive, outdated, and hard to find.

Update 12-24:  The BXT3-19 is a very good tool, but you might want to wait for the BXT4-19.  The BXT4-19 has a solid base which will make it easier for small bundles, and easier to remove the tool after the completed weld.  The BXT4 uses a standard battery instead of the custom BXT3-19 battery.
